Lesser's Look at BOL Masters

BOL Master Week 1
BOL Master Week 1

I know everyone missed me!

Hello everyone, my name is Lesser and I will be one of the individuals doing content for BOL Masters this split. I look forward to following along with everyone as we progress through this season of BOL masters. For my content It will vary from week to week, but I will try and keep it fairly consistent as to what I do. For those who have seen my content from AML and Titan I will try to mimic part of what I do for both.

For this week, due to the nature of the doc being a little late, I am just going to be doing a preseason power ranking where I rank every team individually at a collective of 16 instead of by group. Going forward I will isolate the two groups' power rankings, but for fun at the start I wanted to rank all 16 teams together. Along with that, going forward I will include individual top 5 player rankings as well!

As a quick disclaimer, I am associated with DDG. Content WILL be biased but I will do my best to try and make sure that content is still enjoyable to some regard(Unless you are MINT or Archer then uh oh….)

I look forward to having a good BOL split and hope you all enjoy the content I produce throughout the season!

Note: There will be no death threat counter here

  1. Drop Dead Gaming

Is it a bird? Is it a plane? Is it… NEVERSAW??? Neversaw has returned home back to her old championship team in DDG and is back to reclaim her throne. Let's be honest guys, we know me, and as long as DDG is competing, until they lose I will not rank them below the upper boundaries of any team. This team has 2x Titan winners Brannyfan and Evil Lobster paired up with one time winners Neversaw and Evil Troy. Round out this roster with MrKiwiism and you have the team to beat.

  1. Team Dizzy

When I first saw Team Dizzy as a team entering into BOL I didn’t think much of them as I remember the last Team Dizzy team as the disaster roster that barely won a single series. However, this roster is legit. Alaskan Kodiak is avoiding the chance of playing against his father RyanPaix by playing on the same team as him. Along with this team is both Setter and Freaktor who had a phenomenal AML split before being knocked out in quarters. Last but not least HolyCarrot makes his return after a successful coaching career throughout AML after failing to live up to his name in fall of 2024. An overall strong roster who shouldn’t have much competition in a weak Targon group.

  1. Akuma Moowy’s Frosted Donuts

I always hate most of these Akuma names just because autocorrect thinks I’m making a mistake, but I digress. This Akuma team isn’t as strong as some of the other rosters we’ve seen in recent times. Regardless they still have veterans around the board with 1 time AML winners Cheeks, Cheeks and Loanrie. Cheeks being on ADC is a little unknown to me, but if he can play ADC like he plays top this bot lane will be fine. The only other part of this team I’m worried about is Tonzo. He isn’t bad but the 2 times I’ve seen him play he was kinda not very good. I could be wrong, but if this Akuma team falls behind I’m going to assume it’s him.

  1. Mint Superior

I hate this so much. I can’t continue my MINT slander anymore. I have to actually rate them at a decent level. This team is composed of the same roster featured in Titan Immortal that successfully made semi finals before losing to eventual winners MES 3-1. Vertigo is the shining point on this team as one of the most consistent junglers in the scene. Surrounding him are fortnite and bubbster who individually are strong carries. Anti Oedipus at support leaves more to be desired, but is still most likely a top 5 support in the league. Round it out with Akira and you have a team that should easily make playoffs. This team has no big BIG names, but teams still shouldn’t sleep on them.

  1. Lane Zero Dorado Rejects

I want to start this by saying I think this entire top side (Mid/Jg/Top) is absolutely criminal and I don’t know how I can ever rate them high, but it will just work. Hazem and Noah are going to make this team really fun to watch, and verticality may suffer for their sins. I do like scooter though so maybe it's just a bot lane 1v9 team that will somehow beat Akuma week 1

  1. Ember Wolves

Lil fizzy makes his return to the scene on an Ember Wolves team that realistically isn’t bad. This Ember Wolves team did struggle a LOT though in AML to the point they didn’t make playoffs as a tier 1 team. I don’t know if this is enough to discredit them, but I also wouldn’t expect this team to be absolutely dominant. After a few weeks this team could rise or fall, but for now I just don’t know enough about them to change the spot

  1. Gang 7 Mirage

I like this team because of their ADC and that's about all. In a league where the ADC pool should be strong, having someone who can pilot the role well is important. Alune can 100% be that guy for this team. The rest of the roster also doesn’t look the worst regardless of whether I actually know them. In the weaker group you guys should do well but be careful come playoffs.

  1. Hextech Hackers

I personally really like this team. Hextech Hackers was one of two teams in AML who heavily overperformed expectations and made a substantial name for themselves before being booted out before playoffs. Dota2isbetter is a sneaky good jungler who has a high ceiling and kittlekitkat and prone makeup for a bot lane that shouldn’t be underestimated. This team could flop hard, but I liked what they did in AML and am willing to give them the benefit of the doubt.

  1. Lane Zero Hurricane

If you guys had a different jungler you’d probably be around like 6-7, but because you have Archer I can’t. This LZH team combined the old LZB and LZM roster into one roster. Taking the top, mid and adc from LZM and combining it with the jg/supp of LZB should sound good, right? I think overall the change isn’t bad. LZM failed to make playoffs in Titan and LZB failed to make playoffs in AML, and I feel you grabbed the worst piece from the LZB roster in exchange for the best piece of the LZM roster. If Archer decides he doesn’t want to ruin his 3rd team in a row maybe this team does well, but after being the weak point on back to back rosters who should have had great success, I do not have hope.

  1. Galaxy Gaming Vortex

I don’t know anything about any of your players. I'm going to be so real I don’t know if you guys will do well, but I like the idea that you guys will do well. You guys did get placed in a really challenging group so things may be rough, but realistically getting the 5 seed is not impossible so I’ll be rooting for you guys(outside of week 1).

  1. MESPA White

Night has always been one of my more preferred ADCs in these leagues and I think his ceiling is super high. This season I see that he is on a team that I think benefits him more and lets him be the 1v9 carry he needs to be. His jungle is a supportive one trick, and his top laner has a weak side pool. The only issue I have with this team is the mid lane as I feel there could be a weak point just blasting this team through mid.

  1. USAE Black

We are not starting to get into the teams that I know nothing about and strictly have to go on their solo q and whether or not I like the name/history the team has. USAE has competed around throughout the last few years and has always made a decent impact in AML/Titan/Crunch Time wherever they go. I don’t expect big things from this roster, but I like the army I think.

  1. Ember Phoenix

Having Rexs, Nostalgia and Amanduh on your bench is a decision I think, especially when I see the roster you are featuring before that. I don’t really know what to say with this team because I think if you have the players I assume are better on the actual roster over some of these other guys it has the potential to be really good. Also it's nice to see LostinEkkos back and playing after a short hiatus.

  1. Glacial Esports Black

Fun fact for all the Lesser fans out there, I did have a very short stint as a coach for this Glacial organization before I joined DDG where we won a title! (A style title is a real title surely??). Regardless, I don’t really like this team. This team gives very big Team Zero vibes from Titan where you have a bunch of one dimensional players who in the long run won’t put it together. I’m happy to be wrong but I don’t have high hopes.

  1. Gravity Nebula

This is the same roster from the AML Gravity Nebula team where you guys dropped a crazy 2-5 record with one of those wins being an FF win. I don’t ideally hate this team and I do hope you guys have fun and do well, and maybe you will in a weaker group than the Ionia gauntlet you had, but I would taper expectations and use this season as a learning experience instead of a need to win.

  1. MESPA Master A

Someone had to be last and unfortunately it is going to be you guys. I believe you are the only full diamond team, and I have heard of none of your players and I interact in a LOT of masters leagues, so if I haven’t heard of you then either I’m dumb or you're so lowkey that you’re under the radar.
